CHSS conduct massive cleanliness drive


Launches ‘Clean Your Neighbourhood’ campaign

Dimapur, August 19 (MExN): Continuing with its yearlong celebrations of 50th anniversary, Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur conducted cleanliness drive on August 19 spearheaded by the CHSS Social Service Club and sponsored by Water and Sanitation Support Organisation (WSSO), PHED, Nagaland.

The School stated in a press release that around 1500 students, teachers, alumni, well-wishers and the team Clean Dimapur participated in cleaning the Nyamo Lotha Road stretch and the school campus. Besides, awareness slogans were carried out on wheels (bicycles), signature campaign, essay and art competitions were conducted on the topics – ‘keep it green, keep it clean’, ‘our environment, our responsibility’, ‘go green, go clean’ and ‘green earth, clean earth’.

Earlier in the day, CHSS became the first educational institute in Dimapur to be a part of the ‘A Better Dimapur’ team with the launching of ‘Clean Your Neighbourhood’ campaign. The chief guest at the programme, Moa Sangtam, Administrator, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) welcomed the historic step taken by the school.

He called upon individuals to change their mindset of “only keeping our house clean” to “keeping our neighbourhood and city clean” and also to leave a better Dimapur for our children.

Under this initiative, CHSS Social Service Club owns up the responsibility of cleaning Nyamo Lotha Road every working Saturday, becoming messengers of a cleaner greener Dimapur and to be exemplary citizens.
